How To Know What You Want In Life

But how do I know what I desire in life?

I mentioned in my last post, How Do I create My Life? ‘You have to know what you desire in your heart’. You see, until we have done that our Creative Magnetic Energy, (CME) remains concealed in us. We appear to ourselves and others as being an ‘average Joe’. In truth we are anything but!

We are teeming with potential, but potential is always un- tapped.

Now can I ask you a question? What is it that you desire in life? Pause and thinkAsking Questions about it for a moment before reading on.

It could be something you desire to be, do, have, give or somewhere you desire to go. You may be among the minority who DO KNOW what you desire in life. I am told very few people actually KNOW what they desire and if you asked them, like I just did, the majority will tell you all that they do not ‘want’, but not what they do desire.

Why is that you think?

The issue with that is, if you do not know what you desire in life, how are you going to get it? You are not aiming for anything, so it will be ‘pot luck’ (hit and miss), if you got it at all.                                                               dart & board

It is said, ‘If we fail to plan, we are planning to fail’! Pause and think about that for a few seconds.

The reason for the majority of us not knowing what we desire in life is simple. We have never been taught to focus on our heart’s desires. We are trained to use our minds but not our hearts. I am not referring to the physical blood pump, as much as the core of our being. It is so refreshing to hear someone say, ‘I followed my heart’! We are frightened to follow our heart’s, but why is that so?

But What If…

‘What if I am wrong’? ‘What if I make a mistake’? ‘What if it does not work’? Yet we follow our minds and often get it wrong, make mistakes and things often do not work. Did you notice we survived it? Back to our desires 🙂

When we work things out with your heads, our logical minds, after a while we end up starting over again, and again… Why is that? Because it was not what we really desired in our heart. Our heads said that could /would/should/might work, but it did not! And we are back to the drawing board, again, repeating the same mistakes again… and again.

We could end up searching for years on end, trying to find something that will satisfy our hearts, but from our heads. We often give up, thinking whatever it is, it’s not for us to find. How sad.

When we use our heads, (our logical mind) to figure out what we desire in life, we can only come up with what is already in our heads. Read that sentence again. The same thing applies to any solution that we desire in life, it’s not in our heads, it’s in our hearts! Life springs from our heart.

‘Guard your heart, for out of it flows the issues of life’! Proverbs.

This Is Not A Head, But A Heart  Job!

Whatever decisions we make from our heads they are all filtered through what heartwe already know about. What we already know is based on past experiences. Our logical minds cannot see possibilities. That scares it! The logical mind knows fear and survival. We are defeated before we even start. Our logical minds make decisions about the future based on what has happened in the past.

So we are attempting to move forward with our eyes behind us, so to speak. What kind of signals do you think we are sending out into the Universe. Remember, everything is energy! Yes, including our thoughts, fears, anxieties – all energy!

Our heart on the other hand knows no limitation as it is connected to our subconscious mind, (Higher Self, The Field of Infinite Possibilities, Energy some of the many names used). Take your pick! 😉

Energy In Motion                    Flow

One sure way to know what it is that you desire is to allow yourself to feel your answer to your WHAT. Your heart’s desires and your emotions are closely linked. This emotional attachment is your inspiration that fuels your journey from within. This will get you over life’s hurdles and get you up if you should fall. You will not accept quitting as an option. You are determined to finish your race!

‘Learn to FEEL your way through life!’ Kevin Trudeau.

Your head, (rational mind) cannot provide this, and that is why we quit and A winnerrationalized why we could not go on. Are you getting it? It sounds reasonable, at first, but we have just clocked up another excuse for failure. After too many of those, some stop running their life’s race all together! They just exist, not live!

This energy in motion, (our emotion) is what gives us satisfaction, success and enjoyment in the process as we fulfill our life’s purpose. Our heart’s desire is what produces Creative Magnetic Energy! this is the power that will get you to the finish line with joy!

I am EJ, a resident of the UK who has longed for answers for many years to some of life's most puzzling questions.I am passionate about Self-Awareness and have decided to share some of what I am learning and have learnt with others, so that we can evolve together without so much pain and suffering.I will be sharing how we are creating our own reality, (consciously or unconsciously).I do enjoy reading various materials that give answers to life's challenges, so I can implement them and see changes taking place before my very eyes.My aim is to help others, who like myself only a few years ago, had no idea as to why life seemed to cause us so much pain and suffering.

  1. Hi Leslie,

At first I felt that I might disagree with you. Then I realized that I understood what you meant and the mistakes I have been making.

I had been doing what others wanted me to do, disregarding what I knew in my heart to be the pathway I should take. On the other hand, sometimes I lead with desires and not using logic.

Doing what others have wanted led me to take the long way around where I really wanted to go and eventually spent time backtracking toward!

On the other hand, following a dimwitted desire led me to ruination.

My hope, after making one too many mistakes if first to realize that no one reaches success in life without first making many mistakes. Then I hope to follow where I really want to go, but use logic to reason out the logistics as to how to get there and take a smart pathway toward those true desires.

I am feeling a little stuck, right now! I made so many mistakes I have practically painted myself into a corner, so to speak! I hope others will read this post and make one less mistake before reaching for great success!

All the best to all who visit here!

    1. Hello Lynne, thank you for your heart felt comment.
It’s good to have 20:20 vision, but it normally comes at a cost. We live and we learn. Our mistakes, (yes we all make them), should become a lesson that we learn from. We can always get something from it. Why waste it? It has already happened!

We seem to have this tendency to ‘want to please’, we do not trust our own gut instinct. We think everyone else know best and that is often a mistake. If we are in tuned with our hearts we can feel that what they are saying is not right for us, but we push our own signals aside and go with the ideas of others – often not wise!

Lynne ‘a dimwitted desire’ is never a good idea, even if we did not realize it at the time 🙂 Learn all you can from it and move on. Again we live and we learn. Don’t judge yourself too harshly, and certainly don’t judge the ones whose opinions you have taken. Take full responsibility and move forward armed with the knowledge and wisdom you have gained from your mistakes. We learn more from them than we do from success.

You may feel stuck, but in reality you are not. Energy is always flowing to and from us. It is always at our disposal. Do not allow fear to hold you captive, you CAN move towards your heart’s desires. You are equipped to do so. We ALL are, we just do not know it yet.

Watch your thought closely, they will indicate when you are on track and when you are not. When you are conscious that your thinking is wrong, correct it promptly. Aim to feel good at ALL times regardless of what is going on, on the outside of you. We are vibrational beings we are always sending out frequency and receiving them back, (multiplied). What we send out is VITAL as it will return. So send out the stuff you desire to come back to you – faith, love, joy, happiness…

‘The logistics of how to get there’ is a conscious mind thing and is a vital part of the equation. That’s the inspired action taking part. Don’t rush, but don’t be afraid either. Your logical steps may change as you go and you see a better and quicker way, make the adjustments and go on. Your heart’s desire, is still your heart’s desire and you are now following that. Good for you!

Never think ‘it’s too late’, or ‘I have failed too many times’. Open up to possibilities – they are actually infinite! There is a Universe built to support you. You do your part and rest assured, powerful forces are assisting you.

      Keep in touch.
Desiring a positive turn around in your favour, (favor) Lynne!

  2. Honesty I am not scared to make mistakes. I have made a lot and I do not plan on stopping any time soon. I think the only thing holding me back right now is not having a sustainable income. All I want is to be happy with with my life. I have come to realize it is not the job and I want to do something that lets me live a free life and makes me happy. I’m happy when I’m not working and I’m enjoying the simple pleasures of life. My interests, family, and friends. And I would love to grow my mind further with world travel I think that would make me very happy and feel free!

    1. Hello Kurtis, I love it! Not being afraid to make mistakes is an awe-some attitude, as it keeps fear where it belongs – not hindering you!
Not having a sustainable income is a challenge for many of us. For me, it’s childhood, (and life long) programs. They have to be changed to allow us to welcome what we have been subconsciously resisting.

You and I have to put ourselves in possession to learn how to generate and welcome finance into our lives. It takes time and effort but keep at it.

  3. I fully understand the need to follow the heart, after all… I am personally very “head strung”. I have a tendency to be a prisoner to my mind, but I do practice being present and tuning into my emotions. In a way, I am present because I am aware I am not… does that make any sense? Anyways, there are certainly a lot of powerful forces we can align ourselves with, if we allow ourselves to

  4. Wow, this is a great guide, EJ! I’m always interested in learning, so it should come as no surprise that I found this article extremely interesting and helpful, to say the least 🙂

I highly agree with you that knowing what you want is the key to GETTING what you want in the end. Without a clue, you’re running around like a headless chicken wondering why you can’t getting anywhere in life.

Your article is awesome and informative, and I have no doubts you’ll help hundreds of people with it, so great job!

    1. Hello Brandon, thank you SO much for your comments and observation.

Yes we have to remain open as there is so much to learn about the workings of life.
      Again, thank you!

  5. This article really shows how powerful humans and emotions are.

The concept of the Universe is there to support you really vibes with me. In the Bhagwad Gita, the Great Master Krishna tells Arjuna that the mind is like five horses and mastery of mind is the greatest quest for it can be your greatest friend or greatest enemy.

It’s a constant vigil watching and observing your thoughts day in and day out.

    Like your explanation on emotions.

    Great piece!!

    1. Hello Ravi, we are much more powerful than we have ever been told.
Mastering our minds is crucial for success. I think it was Lao Tzu who said if we cannot control our minds we cannot control the Law of Attraction.

‘A constant vigil…’ oh boy, it sure is! But the payback is tremendous and worth the effort. Thanks Revi.

  6. I really enjoyed reading this article.

I often end up not trying to do something because ‘what if’ scenarios play over in my head. This has really made me stop on think about what I really want to do with my life.

    Best Wishes, Sarah

    1. Hello Sarah, thank you. Do you notice our heads never say, ‘I will do this because, what if I succeed’?

Know what you desire in life and get a during desire for it’s achievement. Make your ‘why you desire it’ strong. Let it include, ‘for the benefit of others also’. Take inspired steps towards it. Enjoy the journey! Help those who you can along the way as what you give out comes back to you with interest!
